According to celebrity gossip site Page Six, the couple have been living separately for a few months. Both Brady and Bundchen are now said to have separately retained divorce solicitors, and are exploring options for settling finances if they should legally separate.
In a recent development, Bundchen is said to have hired Tom Sasser. He’s the managing partner of law firm Sasser, Cestero and Roy, and is famous for managing other celebrity divorces. This includes representing golfer Tiger Woods in his divorce from Elin Nordegren in 2010.
Brady and Bundchen share two children, 9-year-old Vivian and 12-year-old Benjamin. Brady also has a 15-year-old son Jack from a previous relationship.
A source who is believed to be close to the couple told Page Six:
“Things are very nasty between Tom and Gisele because of the lawyers. They are ready for a fight."
“Tom and Gisele are not battling over the kids, they both want joint custody. But it will take some time to divide their immense wealth and property all over the world."
A separate source talked of a major argument between the pair, who’ve been married for 13 years, saying:
“I never actually thought this argument would be the end of them, but it looks like it is.”
“I don’t think there will be any coming back now. They both have lawyers and are looking at what a split will entail, who gets what and what the finances will be.”
A multi-million-dollar empire to divide
If the divorce does happen, the couple and their respective legal teams will have a multi-million-dollar estate to divide.
Brady is the NFL’s highest paid player, with a salary of around $30 million with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a net worth of around $250 million. He also has endorsement deals with a raft of high-end brands, including Hertz, FTX, Autograph, TB12 and his own BRADY brand.
During her career, Bundchen was the highest paid model in the world for 14 years according to Forbes. It’s estimated that she has a net worth of around $400 million.
The star couple own a $17 million home on Indian Creek Island in Miami, a recent purchase made in 2020. Construction work to knock down the existing mansion and build a new one on the site has reportedly stalled in the wake of the marital fallout.
They share a remote holiday home on the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica and a condo in Tribeca valued at $3.6 million. There’s also a $5.7 million property at the Yellowstone Club in Montana.
