In a controversial case, a man has been ordered to increase the monthly sums he pays to his ex-wife as part of a divorce settlement because she has lost the bulk of her money following a series of “poor financial decisions”.

Many couples battle over assets when they get divorced, including properties, businesses and even the family pet.
